Life on the 70 with 53 Years Achivement.

November 1st 2007 will be a special day for Titiek Puspa, because the woman who was born in Tanjung, South Kalimantan 1937 or that date will be reached 70 years. I’m ready old in years any time, I can be called by Gusti Allah she said so. I will never forget to be thank full for all blessing that Allah has given me, ancestors, until this time I’m still able to do many things.

 

When she was born her name was Sumarty and than changed into Sudarmanti, as a little girl Titiek was consider “unlucky” girl. Her body was susceptible bid of disease, but the attention that she get from her parent was huge, event that she was to share it with his 12 sisters and brothers. The continued love and care that her parent and sister gave her keep little Titiek struggle to move forwards. That is also the reason, that makes her “knowing” God, she said.

 

The name Titiek Puspa changed when she was in Junior High School and wanted to follow a singing contest. One of her friend give suggestion to changed her name, so the lucky charmed can got with her. Titiek was his nickname when she was a little girl and Puspa get it from her father Puspo. The talent it sing she get it from God when she was at 3th grade elementary school.

 

After sing for God from a top of a tree from 3th until 4th grade, she said, and I felt that my song was heard by God. A year later when Titiek in grade 5th when she have to take train to go school, she was singed by God to the beat of the train moving along. From that thing little Titiek got the Nur or Light from the God that herself worthy to be come a singer. She was shy girl at first, but she became a socialize girl, at the year of 1954 she became to win the second place on the Bintang radio Semarang region. After that she has to struggle through up and down of life. Titiek Puspa truly  shinning entering age which will be 70. She has composed tens of song and she also starring theatre and movies.

 

Her last marriage was with musician Mus Mualim (before that with Sukasno, they have a daughter Petty Tunjung Sari Murdargo and from Zainal Ardi she get birth Ella Puspa Sari Kamarullah) make his more stronger as one of the famous singer in Indonesia.

 

Her Profession as a musician and cultural observer she kept continuing working on for this 53 years without knowing the word of tired, and not only Titiek Puspa is not just as a singer who entertain but also has a big attention on art and craft. When own country was in crisis economics is town, political is down but that not happening on culture and art, this is the thing than many people forget about it culture and art events was performed only when it is necessary she criticized.

 

There was a quite interesting even, there was on of Indonesia Ambassador confused because he is already 6 month a lobbying to government that he was send to but always get cold attention, finally the ambassador called art and culture missing where Titiek Puspa takes part in, we only performed for one and half hour, but after that the government gone a standing applause and than they can talk with the ambassador. Titiek said it spellbound  because of the happiness the ambassador gave her “tips” that according to him she take it from his own wallet not country money. Our government them selves still looking at the art and culture with one eye only according to Titiek. I beg to get the money for the children who performed Titiek said. After I returned, I feel proud because I can do something to this country.

 

Entering her senior years, Titiek never feel tired to do something for everyone else. The bond of brotherhood that was she get it when she was a little child. She kept alive. To his family or to other person. Even though she already considered success with he catering that stand tall at Jl.Pancoran Timur, south Jakarta. Titiek still show the easy going and humble personality. This catering was build by 12 of us and we are still solid until know she said.

 

But the most priority asset Titiek Puspa was singing, my modal only mouth, singing. It can be reserve until know because the blessing of our God and ancestor, she said humbly
